Steel City Electric is a Florida-based electrical contractor specializing in commercial construction. We self-perform electrical scopes on projects across Florida and beyond. We're looking for a motivated apprentice who wants to learn the trade the right way and grow with a company that rewards hard work.

Position Summary

As an Electrical Apprentice, you'll work alongside our journeymen and lead electricians on commercial job sites, learning every aspect of the trade while helping our crews get quality work installed on schedule. This is a hands-on, entry-level role with a clear path to advancement for the right person.

Responsibilities

• Assist electricians with the installation of conduit, wire, cable, panels, devices, and fixtures
• Bend, cut, and run conduit (EMT, PVC, and rigid) under supervision
• Pull, terminate, and label wire and cable
• Read and interpret basic electrical drawings, plans, and specifications
• Handle, stage, and inventory materials and tools on site
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Follow all NEC, OSHA, and company safety standards
• Operate hand and power tools safely and correctly
• Take direction well and communicate clearly with the crew

Qualifications

• Reliable transportation and a valid Florida driver's license
• Strong work ethic, punctuality, and a willingness to learn
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in varying conditions (heat, heights, tight spaces)
• Basic hand tools (or willingness to acquire them)
• Prior construction or electrical experience is a plus, but not required
• Enrollment in (or willingness to enroll in) an electrical apprenticeship program preferred
