Commercial Service Electrician

A-1 Electrical Contractors Inc. is currently expanding its electrical specialists team. A-1 is seeking an experienced commercial service electrician to join our service team supporting our Greater New Orleans and North Shore clients on a full-time basis.

Skills and Abilities: * Knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials common to the electrical trade. * Knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulations. * Knowledge of electrical application for high and low voltage electric system. * Skill in the installation, repair, and maintenance of all types of electrical system equipment and components. * Technology inclined. * Skilled in both verbal and written communication. * Ability to work indoors, outdoors, in restricted spaces amounting to static postures/positions which must be held for extended periods of time. * Ability to work flexible schedule, such as nights, evenings, weekends, holidays, extended shifts, and take emergency calls. * Diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical systems independently. * Able to read One Line and Schematic Drawings.

Requirements and Qualifications: * Completed electrician apprenticeship. * Proficiency with the National Electrical Code and local codes. * Valid New Orleans Class D license. * Large Scale Commercial projects. * Electrical Service projects. * Ability to read blueprints. * Must be able to comply to a criminal background check and drug test.

Preferred: * CDL class A license * OSHA 10 certified

Physical Requirements: * Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring. * Prolonged periods standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders or scaffolding. * Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits. * Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time. * Must be able to climb ladders.
