Asphalt Plant Electrician

Job Description

Essential Fuctions

  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical components in asphalt plants, including motors, conveyors, control panels, and lighting systems.
  • Maintain and inspect electrical wiring, circuits, and systems to ensure compliance with safety regulations and codes.
  • Diagnose electrical faults using testing equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and thermal imaging devices.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems to reduce downtime and improve plant efficiency.
  • Work with automation and control systems, including PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives).
  • Collaborate with plant operators, maintenance personnel, and management to resolve electrical issues.
  • Assist with upgrades, modifications, and new installations of electrical equipment.
  • Maintain records of electrical maintenance, inspections, and repairs.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge of electrical codes and safety regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
  • Familiarity with PLCs, VFDs, and motor control circuits.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in outdoor and industrial environments, sometimes in extreme weather
  • conditions.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces
