Sr Electrician

POSITION SUMMARY

: Completes duties of an electrician. Works with Project Engineers and Maintenance Advisor to ensure that all electrical systems in the facility comply with the National Electric Code. Works with Maintenance Advisor to develop standards for over-current protection, electrical hardware, and electrical documentation.

• Inspects, repairs, installs, modifies, and maintains electrical/electronic systems, circuits and equipment. Works on new installations including power, light, motors, transformers, control panels, relays, and electronic equipment.
• Maintains and troubleshoots electrical equipment. Diagnoses and determines effective course of action for correcting electrical malfunctions.
• Performs preventative maintenance tasks including overhauls and repairs of motors, starters and other equipment.
• Selects appropriate tools and material for required work. Estimates necessary materials and equipment to complete assignments. Prepares cost estimates as required.
• Develops innovative solutions to resolve problems and to improve efficiency.
• Lays out and installs new wiring; runs conduit; pulls, splices and terminates wiring; bends and shapes conduit to specifications.
• Reads and interprets electrical plans, specification, blueprints and sketches.
• Member of the fire team. (Morton Grove Only).
• Thoroughly understands ladder logic and programs and troubleshoots PLCs.
• Designs, lays-out and prepares sketches and plans in conjunction with Engineers to ensure that all installations conform to the National Electric Code.
