What You Can Expect Working in the Skilled Electrician Position

The Skilled Electrician works under the direction of the Production Manager and is responsible for the installation, repair, and testing of electrical systems during the production of blast-resistant, modular buildings and other industrial buildings. As a Skilled Electrician, you are integral in supporting RedGuard’s goal of delivering customers a quality product on time. You may have the opportunity to work in other stages of the manufacturing process, as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Assembles, installs, tests, or maintains electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, or fixtures, using hand tools or power tools.
• Inspects electrical systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
• Plans, layouts and installs electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, based on job specifications, blueprints, and local codes.
• Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates.
• Reviews and/or resolves manufacturing problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
• Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
• Cross-trains and uses additional trade skills in multiple stages of the manufacturing process as assigned.
