ROADWAY ELECTRICIAN-JOB DESCRIPTION

Journeyman Electrician / Roadway Foreman to lead a small field crew performing highway and roadway lighting repairs, electrical service work, underground wiring repairs, troubleshooting, and lighting system maintenance throughout Norfolk, VA.

This is a hands-on leadership role. Most of the work will involve repairing and maintaining roadway lighting systems, electrical services, underground feeds, lighting circuits, poles, fixtures, and related infrastructure. The right person can work independently, lead a one- to two-person crew, stay organized in the field, and make sure the work is completed safely, correctly, and efficiently.

What You’ll Do

• Lead day-to-day field operations for roadway lighting repair and maintenance work
• Supervise and train a one- to two-person crew
• Troubleshoot and repair highway and roadway lighting systems
• Work on electrical services, underground wiring, lighting circuits, and control systems
• Troubleshoot 3-phase lighting circuits
• Locate underground electrical faults
• Set light poles and repair pole-mounted lighting equipment
• Install, repair, and maintain lighting fixtures, wiring, conduit, and related components
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, maps, manuals, specifications, and work orders
