Position Summary

Under general supervision, performs installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment at the Skilled Journeyman level and completes plumbing, carpentry and hardware repair and installation work at the Skilled Apprentice level when required.

Position Responsibilities

· Maintain a safe work environment

· Inspect electrical systems to locate trouble and determine need for repairs

· Repair, maintain and install electric circuits, motors, heaters, transformers, switchboards and other electrical equipment

· Perform plumbing, carpentry and hardware repair and installations as required on the jobsite

· Select and prepare lists and order materials for the job

· Draw diagrams and sketches and help prepare estimates of job costs

· Maintain work records and prepare reports

Essential Skills and Experience

· Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing

· Ability to install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical circuits and equipment at the journey-level without outside assistance

· Ability to perform plumbing, carpentry and hardware repair and installations at the skilled apprentice-level

· Knowledge of the methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical circuits and equipment
