Master Electrician

Overview

The Master Electrician is the senior technical authority for all electrical systems on site, responsible for the safe installation, operation, and maintenance of facility electrical infrastructure. This role provides expert-level oversight of electrical work, ensures full compliance with federal, state, and industry codes, and supports mission‑critical operations through reliable system performance. Working both independently and in coordination with engineering leadership, the Master Electrician leads electrical projects, troubleshoots complex issues, and guides junior electricians to maintain the highest standards of workmanship and safety

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Serve as the site’s subject‑matter expert for electrical systems, equipment, and code compliance. * Install, maintain, and repair electrical distribution systems, panels, controls, and related components. * Lead and oversee electrical projects from planning through completion, ensuring all work meets regulatory and contract requirements. * Diagnose and resolve complex electrical issues, providing technical direction to electricians and maintenance staff. * Conduct inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance to ensure system reliability and safety. * Maintain strict adherence to NFPA, NEC, OSHA, and Department of State electrical standards. * Document work performed, update maintenance records, and support reporting requirements. * Ensure safe work practices, proper lockout/tagout procedures, and compliance with all company safety policies. * Provide guidance, mentorship, and on‑the‑job training to electrical personnel. * Support emergency response efforts and remain available for after‑hours issues as required. * Perform additional duties as assigned.
