Job Description

A Master Electrician in Texas is responsible for overseeing electrical projects, ensuring safety and compliance, and performing high-level electrical work, including installing, maintaining, and repairing wiring and equipment. Key duties include reading blueprints, testing and troubleshooting systems, and mentoring other electricians. This role is for a licensed professional who holds the highest level of electrician license and can be the designated license holder for a company.

Key responsibilities

  • Leadership and supervision: Function as the senior electrician on a project, manage and oversee other electricians, and serve as the company's license holder.
  • Installation and maintenance: Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring systems, including service entrance conductors, and all related equipment and appliances.
  • Planning and design: Plan and implement electrical system additions or modifications.
  • Testing and troubleshooting: Test and inspect electrical components, such as transformers and circuit breakers, and identify and resolve electrical problems using various testing devices.
  • Mentorship and training: Provide guidance and training to other electricians.
  • Project documentation: Keep accurate records, prepare reports, and document work for clients.

Qualifications

  • Hold a Texas Master Electrician license.
  • Have extensive experience as a licensed electrician.
  • Pass an advanced licensing exam.
