Licensed Journeyman Electrician (4+ yrs Commercial Electrical exp req)

The Role

We are looking for a licensed Journeyman Electrician to join our team. This is a unique role that combines traditional electrical work with high-tech system integration. You won’t just be pulling wire; you will be the backbone of our infrastructure, ensuring that our complex security, surveillance, and life safety systems have the power and pathways they need to protect our clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Infrastructure & Raceways: Lead the layout and installation of conduit (EMT, Rigid, Flex), cable trays, and j-boxes specifically designed for low-voltage system architecture.
• Power Management: Install, terminate, and test dedicated power circuits, UPS systems, and power supplies for security head-end equipment.
• System Installation: Support the installation of low-voltage components, including IP cameras, access control panels, fire alarm devices, and intrusion sensors.
• Compliance & Standards: Ensure all work meets or exceeds NEC standards, as well as local building and fire codes.
• Project Leadership: Manage on-site material needs and coordinate with other trades to ensure raceways are installed efficiently and correctly.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve electrical issues related to both line-voltage power and low-voltage control circuits.

Qualifications

• Licensure: Valid Journeyman Electrician License (Maryland).
• Experience: 4+ years of commercial electrical experience; experience with Life Safety or Security systems is a significant plus.
• Technical Skill: Proficiency in bending pipe (all sizes) and reading complex blueprints/schematics.
• Adaptability: Willingness to work on low-voltage DC circuits as comfortably as 120/208V AC circuits.
• Reliability: Strong track record of safety, punctuality, and clean workmanship.
• Physical Ability: Must be able to lift 50 lbs., work on ladders/lifts, and operate power tools safely.
