About the Role

Journeyman electricians are responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems. They work with blueprints to figure out how the systems are supposed to work. Then, they use that information to troubleshoot electrical problems and come up with solutions for them. A journeyman electrician needs to have a deep familiarity with various types of electrical systems, fixtures, and components. They have to be able to repair electrical uses with a variety of tools and techniques. Their work also requires them to follow OSHA safety requirements and to safely use ladders, scaffolding, and platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Install new electrical systems, including wiring, circuit breakers, transformers, lighting, and appliances, in compliance with technical drawings and building codes.
• PLC Troubleshooting within the organization.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on electrical systems to prevent issues and ensure proper functioning.
• Analyses drawings and wiring diagrams to install circuits and equipment and to determine the need for and method of repair or replacement.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot problems in electrical circuits and equipment, making necessary repairs to restore functionality.
• Ensure all work adheres to local and national safety standards, including OSHA requirements, and understand electrical code specifications.
