Overview

Power and Light Alaska is looking to hire a dependable journeyman electrician for a full-time position in the Anchorage area.

We are looking for someone who can run small jobs independently and work for extended periods of time on larger job sites without supervision. This position is a good fit for someone who takes pride in clean work, communicates well, can think ahead, and knows when to ask questions before making major decisions.

Our company does a mix of residential, commercial, industrial, remodel, service, troubleshooting, lighting, controls, panels, conduit, and general electrical work. Most work is in the Anchorage area, but some projects may require travel to remote Alaska locations, bush communities, or other out-of-town job sites.

We need someone who can help keep jobs moving in the field while ownership handles estimating, scheduling, billing, and office responsibilities.

Responsibilities include

Running small jobs independently from start to finishWorking alone or with limited supervision on larger job sitesTroubleshooting electrical issuesInstalling and modifying residential, commercial, and industrial electrical systemsReading basic plans, scopes of work, and job notesMaking material lists and communicating material needsSupervising or assisting apprentices and wiremen when neededCommunicating professionally with customers, coworkers, and managementKeeping job sites clean, organized, and safeNotifying the office of change-order items, job issues, or scope changes before proceedingOccasional travel to remote Alaska locations or out-of-town job sites when needed
