Journeyman Electrician - Artemis Blackwater Mine

DESCRIPTION

The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for performing skilled journeyman level work which involves preventative and corrective maintenance, inspections, modifications, installation/dismantling of electrical systems.

This position operates on a 14/14 rotation schedule, working ten (10) hour days. The rate for this position is $47.00 an hour. Rates may be subject to change.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Complete timely inspections, testing and accurate reporting of equipment defects / deficiencies
• Conduct timely maintenance services and quality repair of equipment
• Maintain accurate documentation of work completed and materials use
• Provides input into the planned and scheduled work and assists with the completion of the committed schedule.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations and company standards
• Assists with the scoping, estimating, planning and execution of new work or projects.
• Ensures all requirements as specified by the manufacturer of systems and fixtures are met.
• Ensures all installations, repairs and maintenance meet the requirements of the appropriate codes.
• Ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance meet environmental protection requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Journeyman Certified Electrician (Red Seal) with a minimum of five years’ experience.
• Current certificates in Fall Arrest, Confined Space, and Elevated Work Platform preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Software) is considered an asset.
• The ability to work in a team environment is crucial along with a strong commitment to personal and team safety.
• Skilled in the reading and interpretation of blueprints, drawings, & schematics.
• Strong knowledge of safe work practices and procedures typical for maintenance operations.
