As an Industrial Electrician (Electrical Machine Maintenance) employee with John Deere in Ottumwa, IA, you will:

Lay out, install, modify, and maintain complex electrical circuits and electronic equipment. In addition, you will diagnose and remedy electrical problems while focusing on safety, quality, and teamwork.

Job details are dependent on duties assigned but in general consist of the following

• Work from intricate wiring diagrams and schematic drawings involving the use of standard electrical symbols for power, control, and measurement. In addition, work from prints, sketches, and verbal instructions.
• Plan work sequence and select materials and tools needed for given task.
• Establish primary and secondary distribution centers, balance loads, and wire circuits having many units and connections.
• Locate and correct electrical issues of various nature including working on high voltage circuits which may require the use of rigging, ladders and building structure.
• Install and/or maintain motors, generators, lights, electronic equipment, transformers, switches, lightning arrestors, welding equipment, power and light lines, control panels, automatic controls, switchboards, etc.
• Assist and support other team members and work with minimal supervision.
