MDH Springfield Hospital Center Maintenance Department 6655 Sykesville Road Sykesville, MD 21784 Main Purpose of Job -----------------------

The main purpose of this position is to repair and maintain the site electrical distribution systems as well as the electrical power, lighting, and specialty systems for Springfield Hospital Center buildings and grounds in order to maintain a safe and dignified environment for patients and staff. This position will be part of an emergency on-call rotation and is designated as emergency essential. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS --------------------------

Education

Completion of eighth grade.

Experience

Five years of experience installing, repairing, testing and maintaining electrical systems, equipment, fixtures and control devices at commercial or residential buildings or other facilities.

Notes

1. Candidates may substitute additional experience as described on year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute graduation from an accredited vocational or technical high school or other vocational or technical school with a concentration in electricity for three years of the required experience.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military experience as a non-commissioned officer in construction electrician classifications or construction and engineering specialty codes in the installation and repair of electrical systems, on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
