EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

This position plays an important part in keeping electrical systems safe, steady, and ready for emergencies. It supports reliable operations through careful testing, repair work, and real time system adjustments. Your work will occur in key locations, including the Harrisburg Capitol Complex, the Governor’s Residence, the Lieutenant Governor’s Residence, and the Regional Office Buildings. As a High Voltage Technician, you will perform the following duties:

• System Analysis: Examine electrical equipment and compare readings with standards to guide adjustments
• Emergency Response: Make substitutions and repairs during system failures while following all safety rules
• Equipment Maintenance: Clean, calibrate, and repair control devices, meters, and power generating components
• Component Repair: Dismantle, rebuild, and adjust generators, motors, converters, and related equipment
• Power Control: Operate switchboards to manage electrical generation and distribution across facilities
• Field Work: Install transformers, cables, and conduits, and use lift equipment to complete overhead repairs
