Summary

The Journeyman Electrician plans, lays out , installs and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus and controls equipment, as well as directing and training Electrician Helpers to do the same. Essential Duties:* Electrical Safety – work safely around the hazards associated with electricity. Select the proper applications for different types of voltages (i.e. 24, 120,240,480,600,12,800 61kv * Electrician Tools – use hand, electric, pneumatic and hydraulic tools in a safe manner. * P&ID / Blue Print Reading – Correctly reads and understands plans, isometrics, arrangement drawings, details, specifications, erection manuals and/or blue prints and makes competent decisions based on measurable criteria. * Working knowledge of National Electric Code and full understanding of NFPA 70e * Have sound knowledge of, understand and use Lock-out tag-out procedures * Identify conduit and hardware * Measure, cut and thread conduit * Pull cable and wire conduit * Identify cable tray and hardware * Fabricate and install hangars and brackets * Mount junction boxes * Figure, cut and inst...
