Responsibilities

The Electrical Technician is responsible for operating, maintaining, repairing and troubleshooting electrical systems for all power up to and including 230kV including Site Substations, Service Entry Sections, Electrical switchgear, Panelboards, Transformers, cabling systems, metering circuits, diesel generators, UPS, STS/PDU/RPP as well as motor connections, Motors and electrical controls.

Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe workplace Must have working knowledge of Minimum Approach Distances for Live Line Work;. Read and interpret technical repair manuals, operating guides, schematics, wiring diagrams, shop drawings, and codebooks. Performs basic mathematical calculations, including minor algebra, to calculate electrical loads, power factors, horsepower, etc. Prepares and maintains records, reports, parts lists, and work orders.
