Facilities Electrical Technician

Position Description: Purpose

A Facilities Electrical Technician installs, maintains, and repairs the electrical systems and equipment within a commercial, industrial, or campus property. They ensure the building’s power distribution, lighting, and control systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all relevant electrical codes. Essential Functions** Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and scheduled maintenance on transformers, switchgears, circuit breakers, emergency generators, and UPS systems.

* Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose and repair electrical faults, malfunctioning equipment, and damaged wiring using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other testing devices.

* System Installation: Assemble, install, and wire new electrical panels, lighting fixtures, power outlets, and control systems.

* Compliance & Safety: Ensure all work adheres to the National Electrical Code (NEC), local building codes, and OSHA safety standards, including strict adherence to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols.

* Blueprint Reading: Interpret complex electrical blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to accurately locate failures and execute repairs.

* Vendor Coordination: Assist or oversee external contractors during large facility upgrades or major equipment servicing.

* Documentation: Log maintenance activities, track inventory, and maintain accurate records of repairs and inspections.

* Record and report activities accurately
