Main Duties & Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY

Install or repair electrical systems, apparatus and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery, equipment or facilities. Investigate complex electrical, electronic, and associated mechanical problems or breakdowns and make diagnosis based upon findings and define corrective action necessary. Troubleshoots or reworks electrical, electronic, or pnuematic control systems.

DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned as necessitated by Company production requirements.

1. Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment.

2. Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment.

3. Plan layouts and installs wiring and conduit as well as lighting fixtures, switches, outlets and other electrical devices that require hard wiring to the facility power supply.

4. Plan layouts and installs telephone wiring and communications cables such as data processing lines etc., that require running inside walls, above ceiling or below floor.

5. Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, pnuematic controls and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires, cables or other parts necessary to correct the malfunction. Performs troubleshooting or rework of electrical, electronic or pnuematic control systems.
