Electrician/Range Maintenance Technician

is seeking a Electrician/Range Technician in the Williamsburg are of Virginia. The Electrician/Range technician will be providing technical support for the operations and maintenance of military firing range. This individual will be required to performs a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, and/or repair of equipment for the distribution and utilization of electric energy in support of the range mission.

Work involves most of the following: installing or repairing any of a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment; working from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications, locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment, working standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment, and using a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments.

In general, the work of the electrician/range maintenance technician requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience. The ideal candidate will have a wide variety of skills and experience in the construction and maintenance industry. This position will work as part of a small team and support a wide variety of trades to include carpentry, plumbing, pneumatic systems, painting, HVAC, welding (various types), etc. This position may require the use of forklifts, skid steers, and other equipment. Additional certifications are a plus.

Job Requirements

• Knowledge of NEC code required.
• Ability to read blueprints, manuals, and construction drawings.
• Performs all facets of electrical installations.
