Electrician Needed — $75/hr, 3-Year Public Works Project

Albion, NY, USPosted 20 days ago

Job Description

About the Project

We're the electrical contractor building the complete security system, cameras, audio monitoring, and alarms, at Orleans Correctional Facility. This is steady, premium-paid work on a public works contract running approximately three years, with a real path to lead and foreman as the project grows.

What You'll Do

Run conduit, pull cable, terminate and test connections across a large-scale security and low-voltage install. You'll work as part of a crew on a long-term project with consistent hours and clear expectations.

What We're Looking For

  • 2-3 years minimum of electrical or low-voltage field experience required (running conduit and pulling, terminating, and testing cable); 5+ years preferred
  • OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety card required by New York State for this public works project. Don't have it yet? No problem, we'll help point you to a class before start.
  • Able to commute reliably to Albion for full-time day shift work, for the duration of a multi-year project
  • Reliable and drug-free
  • Able to pass an extended background check and clearance process required for facility access at a correctional site (this process can take several weeks, plan accordingly)

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience on a public works or prevailing wage job (certified payroll, compliance reporting)
  • Conversational Russian, Ukrainian, or Polish, helpful for daily communication with parts of the crew, not required

Why Take This Job

$75/hour on a stable, roughly three-year project is rare in this trade. You'll join a strong crew with consistent full-time hours and a defined opportunity to move into a lead or foreman role as the work grows, typically within 12-18 months for the right candidate.

Pay: From $75.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
