Position Summary

This position is responsible for assisting the Electrical Supervisor in the installation of wiring and electrical fixtures.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

: includes but not limited to:

* Performs preventative maintenance and installation of electrical equipment and all associated systems and devices * Repairs or replaces electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures using hand and power tools * Connects wires to circuit breakers, transformers or other components Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

* Tests electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters and oscilloscopes to ensure compatibility and safety of system * Responsible for all departmental logs/record keeping and labor recording pertinent to their day-to-day job duties * Assists other trades, as needed Minimum Education and Qualifications:

* High School diploma or equivalent * Must possess and maintain a current State of Connecticut Occupational License E-2 or above * Must be able to pass both verbal and technical proficiency test and demonstrate skills necessary to perform specific job functions * Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety requirements of the trade * Must be able to read and work from blueprints * Possesses a working knowledge of the electrical trade including the concepts of voltage, current and power and the properties and uses of electrical components Competencies: Incumbent will master the following competencies while in this position:

• Good written and verbal communication skills
