Duties and Responsibilities

* Ensures the safe operation of all electrical systems and equipment by completing preventative maintenance on controllers, transformers, voltage regulators and machinery wiring. * Assists in maintaining emergency generator system-related equipment * Obtains electrical work permits * Must stay current on all City and County electrical codes * Works closely with contractors on site to ensure work performed meets current electrical codes * Makes suggestions and offers ideas for repairs of campus buildings * Installs new circuitry for equipment and lighting * Performs work assignments received, both verbal and through the work order software system * Maintains records of work performed using the work order management software system * Assists supervisor with inventory control * Performs work assignments to make campus facilities as safe and secure as possible for all students, staff and faculty * May, at times, be called upon to assist with snow removal * Performs related duties as assigned

Minimum Education and/or Work Experience

* Trade School or Industrial Apprenticeship degree in Electric or Electronic Trades * Minimum of 5 years electrician experience * Certifications: Journeyman Electrician License
