Electrician - Fabrication Yard Houma, LA.

Description: Main Purpose:

To perform all electrical-related job functions assigned, providing preventive maintenance and/or electrical repairs to all electrical motors and related components owned or rented by Gulf Island in a safe and efficient manner.

Essential Functions

• Perform routine maintenance such as changing worn electrical cables, plugs, sockets, fuses, switches, circuit breakers, etc., and checking electrical settings on welding machines to ensure efficient operations and performance
• Repair and overhaul electrical motors on overhead cranes and welding machines and replace applicable parts, such as armatures, brushes, wiring, etc.
• As required, run electrical lines and install electrical hookups (outlets, 220 volts, 440 volts, etc.) in the fabrication yard
• Replace burned-out lights in office and shop areas
• Repair electrical components in CB and two-way radios
• Ensure that all electrical motors, machines, equipment, and application components are operating in a safe and efficient manner
• Ability to read schematics
• Perform other duties assigned by supervisor

Job Requirements

• 3+ years experience as an electrician in an Industrial setting
• Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
• Must be able to pass background checks to company policy
• Must be able to read and write
