Description Classified position is announced to all qualified applicants. 8 hours per day/257 days per year/Lane 12 $26.80 per hour (2026 - 2027 Support Salary Table) (Promotions result in a 5% minimum increase) Placement is typically made at the entry level. GENERAL FUNCTION: Under the direction of the electrical foreman or the coordinator, the electrical specialist maintains and repairs engine driven electric generators, transfer switches and other related equipment. Performs scheduled maintenance, inspection and testing tasks. Installs new generators and transfer switches and performs startup and testing of new systems. Performs minor electrical repairs to building systems. Knowledge & Ability: 1. Repairing and maintaining engine driven generators and transfer switches 2. Repairing and maintaining emergency generator control systems 3. Experience performing load bank tests on generator systems 4. Experience performing preventative maintenance and inspections on engine driven emergency power systems. 5. Repairing and maintaining gasoline/LPG engines 6. Repairing and maintaining diesel engines 7. Repairing and maintaining gasoline/LPG and diesel fuel systems 8. Repairing and maintaining engine cooling systems 9.
