We’re looking for a Facilities Electrician who enjoys solving problems, takes pride in quality work, and knows that keeping the lights on is serious business (even if we have fun doing it). You’ll troubleshoot electrical systems, chase down stubborn breaker trips, install and maintain lighting and controls, work indoors and outdoors, and support classrooms, labs, offices, and specialized systems across campus. There’s no shortage of work here, but the upside is a steady, in-town schedule with real variety from day to day. If you value safety, communicate well, and appreciate clean panels, tight terminations, and thoughtful troubleshooting, you’ll feel right at home. This position may be filled at the CT2 or CT3 level, depending on the selected candidate’s experience.

To thrive in this role, you'll be a skilled electrician who enjoys troubleshooting complex electrical systems and takes pride in delivering safe, high-quality work. You'll have two or more years of journeyman electrician experience, preferably with experience on large construction sites, and hold a valid State of Alaska Certificate of Fitness along with a Journeyman Electrician certification (or equivalent). Success in this role requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety while working independently and collaboratively across a variety of campus environments. Excellent communication and customer service skills will help you build positive relationships with campus partners as you maintain and improve critical electrical systems.
