Definition

The position of Electrical Service Technician is responsible installing, repairing, troubleshooting and maintaining electrical systems and equipment to ensure safe and reliable operations. This position performs work in accordance with applicable codes, safety standards, and in compliance with federal, state, local and District guidelines and regulations.

* Ensure safety of students and staff through the safe operation of equipment and according to OSHA, PERRP and National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements. * Install, inspect, maintain, and repair electrical systems, wiring, fixtures, and equipment as assigned. * Use digital multimeters, oscilloscopes and diagnostic software to troubleshoot and/or calibrate electrical equipment and devices. * Inspect and repair fire alarm systems and emergency battery backup/generator systems. * Perform preventive and predictive maintenance activities on electrical systems and components as directed and scheduled. * Analyze circuits, wiring diagrams, drawings, schematics, technical manuals, etc., to install, repair, calibrate, maintain, replace, or service electric devices and systems. * May be require to respond to emergency service calls outside of normal working hours. * Works in conjunction with contracted services as required. * Schedule and provide communication regarding repairs, installation, inspection, etc. as required. *...
