Electrician

Description

An Electrician installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs electrical systems in commercial and industrial environments. This role requires 4+ years of hands-on field experience, a strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC), and the ability to work independently or as part of a crew to complete work safely, on schedule, and to quality standards.

*Key Responsibilities:*

• Install, repair, and maintain electrical wiring, conduit, panels, breakers, switches, outlets, lighting, and control systems per plans, specifications, and code.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, one-line diagrams, and work orders; verify materials and identify conflicts in the field.
• Perform troubleshooting using appropriate test equipment (e.g., multimeter, megger, clamp meter) to diagnose and correct electrical issues.
• Plan and execute rough-in and trim-out work; pull wire, terminate devices, and label circuits to standards.
• Ensure all work complies with NEC, local codes, and company quality requirements; complete work to pass inspections.
• Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO), PPE, and jobsite safety rules; maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Coordinate with foremen, general contractors, and other trades to maintain schedule and resolve jobsite issues.
• Mentor apprentices as assigned; provide direction on safe work practices and craftsmanship.
• Document daily progress, material usage, and changes; communicate delays, hazards, and scope questions promptly.

Requirements

• 4+ years of electrical field experience (commercial/industrial/residential) performing installation and service work.
• Journeyman Electrician license/certification (as required by jurisdiction) or the ability to obtain within a specified timeframe.
• Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes.
