Electrician - Airfield Maintenance

CLASS SUMMARY

Responsible for skilled work in the installation, maintenance and repair of airfield lighting, signs and regulators. Maintains and repairs street lighting, entrance and exit gate electrical systems, and other electrical problems on the airport grounds as needed. This position assists with snow removal operations on varying shifts, based on operational needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Maintains runway, taxiway, and other special airport lighting and signage systems in accordance with codes, standards and other requirements.
• Maintains and repairs airfield regulators, runway guard lights and runway ground weather sensors.
• Maintains and repairs street lighting.
• Maintains and installs electric equipment in buildings if needed
• Maintains and repairs security gate operators and emergency generators.
• Maintains airfield computer systems.
• Performs snow and ice removal.
• Assists in emergencies on CVG Airport property 24/7.
• Safety Trainer position responsibilities: provide training for airfield maintenance personnel regarding CDL, safety and snow removal; writes training programs and standard operating procedures.
• Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.

Details

Journeyman electrician experience in the installation, repair and maintenance of major electrical distribution systems, facilities and equipment.

Or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

LICENSING/CERTIFICATIONS

Required

• Kentucky Journeyman Electrician license
• Obtain and maintain Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) clearance
• FLIR Training
• Confined Space Training
• AAAE Airfield Lighting Certificate / ADB Airfield Lighting Certificate
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (or ability to acquire Class A...
