JOB EXAMINATION IS ANNOUNCED TO ESTABLISH AN EMPLOYMENT ELIGIBILITY LIST TO FILL ONE (1) CURRENT WEST JEFFERSON VACANCY IN THE PARKS & RECREATION DEPARTMENT AND ONE (1) CURRENT EAST JEFFERSON VACANCY IN THE DEPARTMENT OF LIBRARY.

This employment list will also be used for future EAST AND WEST Jefferson vacancies in various Departments as they occur.

NOTE

: Selective certification of eligibles with a valid Louisiana Class B (or higher) CDL Driver's License and an acceptable driving record will be used in filling the one (1) West Jefferson vacancy in the Department of Parks & Recreation.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES The purpose of this position is to handle all electrical repair and renovations of the electrical system in assigned buildings. Employee will perform skilled work. Employee is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, testing, repairing, and/or replacing electrical systems. Will perform various supervisory duties to include instructing, assigning and review work of a Trades Helper. Responsible for maintaining all electrical related items which include: scoreboards, p.a. systems, buildings, pump motors, field lighting systems, etc. Responsible for underground wiring and high altitude lighting repair. Required to provide services and/or installation for any electrical related problems as they arise. This position is an essential, emergency duty status worker and may not be relieved of duty when the Parish President or his designee recommends a voluntary or mandatory evacuation of Jefferson Parish. Position also requires driving of a Parish vehicle, thus possession of a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record will be given preference.
