Today's North Charleston Sewer District was originally established in 1972 by an Act of the South Carolina General Assembly. Previously, wastewater collection and treatment in the North Area were accomplished by a consolidated public service district. Now operating under a nine-member Commission, the District is committed to "...construction, operation, maintenance and enlargement of...sewers and sewage treatment and disposal...necessary to protect the health of those living in the District, and to provide for the collection, treatment and disposal of sewage and industrial effluent."

Job Description

The North Charleston Sewer District is looking for add an Electrical Technician Position at our Wastewater Treatment Plant effective immediately.

Duties and Responsibilities

:

· Troubleshoots and diagnoses, depending on area assigned, operational and mechanical/electrical deficiencies.

· Assists in the troubleshooting and repair of plant maintenance electrical equipment emergency and non-emergency breakdowns.

· Monitors, calibrates, maintains, and repairs atmospheric test meters for use in confined spaces; completes and maintains associated logs and records.

· Performs preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance under limited supervision.

· Coordinates with outside contractors on repairs.

· Responds to power failures and other after hour emergencies on a rotating basis.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

· High school diploma

• Two (2) years of related experience or
• Equivalent education, training, and/or experience.

Licenses or Certifications

· Valid South Carolina driver’s license.
