Electrical Technician II

Overview

R&P is looking for an experienced Marine Electricial Technician II to fill a full-time position undertaking a variety of tasks relating to installing, repairing, and troubleshooting electrical and electronic equipment onboard various Navy ships in Norfolk, VA. This position will involve installing electrical cabling, building various electrical connectors, Installation of hardware and troubleshooting malfunctions in several different electrical and electronic systems. Due to the high amount of risk pertaining to this job, electricians must be first and foremost responsible individuals with great attention to safety precautions. The ideal candidate must also be experienced in different kinds of electrical devices and systems. Responsibilities: * Coordinate and execute plans of electrical installations for many different electrical and electronic systems such as lighting, announcing, 115VAC/440VAC/24DVC electrical plant equipment, Uninterrupted Power Supply equipment, Audio/Video equipment, Antenna systems and many others * Install electrical components, fixtures, and equipment for various electrical systems * Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks using various MIL-SPEC connectors and connection boxes * Pull in cables of various lengths and sizes to accommodate system connections * Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair/replace damaged equipment * Install, tag and band copper cables on various classes of surface and submarine Naval Vessels. * Performing all duties required to layout, fabricate, and install electrical wiring, coaxial cable, onboard Navy vessels. * Troubleshooting and testing of copper cables and circuits. * Possess skills and abilities to perform the requirements of a shipboard or airframe electrician's trade with little supervision or guidance. * Knowing how to read and interpret drawings, specifications, technical manuals, design notices, etc. * Knowing and understanding the use...
