POSITION SUMMARY

Install, maintain, and repair commercial electrical systems, wiring, equipment, and fixtures. Ensure that work is in accordance with all relevant codes. Install conduit systems, hang light fixtures, install feeder wire and terminate electrical panels.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

* Basic tasks Electrician is expected to complete and understand with minimal oversight include: + Underground raceway installation + Overhead Conduit Installation including EMT, GRC, IMC from ½” to 4” + Branch Wire Sorting and Pulling + Branch Terminations on Source and Device/Fixture Side + General Understanding of Lighting Controls + Basic Code Requirements for Other Electrical Systems such as Fire Alarm * Layout, install, repair or replace electrical wiring, equipment, components and fixtures using hand and power tools; based on job specifications, electrical drawings and local codes * Inspect and trouble shoot electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety rules * Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem * Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures to ensure compatibility and safety of system * Use a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment including circuit tracers, volt meters, megger, proximity testers and ohmmeters * Install panel boards, transformers, motor control centers and motors * Layout and work from ladders, aerial lifts, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring,...
